Five Handmade Mother’s Day Gift Ideas
With Mother’s Day just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about some special gifts for that special lady. Not every gift has to break the bank! Sometimes, handmade gifts made from the heart are just as valuable too. Put your creative skills to the test and make something nice and personalized for mom:
1. Egg Carton Flowers
Flowers are an iconic part of every Mother’s Day. If you want to get creative with the flowers you give your mom this year, consider making some out of egg cartons! Simply cut it up into sections to use as petals, use straws or sticks for the stems, and buttons or beads for the center. Of course, you also need to paint it any color of your choice.
2. Handmade Cards
Break out the colorful paper and glitter for this project -- unless you want to keep it simple! An easy or extravagant handwritten card with decorations and words personalized just for your mom is perfect, and something she can save for a lifetime.
3. Painted Pots
If you have any leftover flower pots that aren’t being used at the moment, you can revamp them for a fresh new look. Repaint them, decorate them, or fill them with her favorite flowers. Plus, she’ll think of you every time she waters the plants.
4. Bake Her Some of Her Favorites
If mom has a sweet tooth, consider baking her a treat or two. From cupcakes to chocolate bark, there are a variety of online and easy to make recipes that your whole family can enjoy.
5. Make a “Reasons Why I Love You” Book
Write out all your favorite things about your mom and put it all together for one very special book! You can add pictures and personalized details but the most important thing is to speak from your heart and let her know how grateful you are for her!
